Underwriting certification of a loan is performed
on the Certification/Pre-Approval - Detail screen. To access this
screen, click Certification/Pre-Approval
under the Management menu to display
the Certification/Pre-Approval - Quick
Search Criteria screen. Enter the criteria to search for the loan
to be certified then click the Search
Loans button. All primary loans matching the criteria entered are
displayed in the Loans grid, along
with any associated additional loans. To view information on additional
loans, click the Expand/Contract
button next to the primary loan.
The Loans grid of the Certification/Pre-Approval screen is made up of the
following fields:
Loan Number: number assigned to the loan.
Last Name: Last name of the borrower.
First Name: First name of the borrower.
Lender Numbers: Number for the lender.
Reservation/Commitment Date: Date the loan was created.
Status: Current status of the loan.
Approved Stage: Current stage of the loan.
Click Certification/Pre-Approval under the Management menu to display the Certification/Pre-Approval - Quick Search Criteria screen.
Enter the criteria to search for the loan to be certified then click the Search Loans button.
Double-click the loan to certify in the Loans grid. This opens the Certification tab.
Review the information in the Certification tab.
Click the Add button below the Product Codes field and select the code from the pop-up menu to add a product code.
Click the See Income button to check income and tax information in the Incomes tab.
Select the appropriate Certification Approval option:
I have reviewed federal tax returns for the period of three years preceding closing for mortgagor(s) and spouse(s). I have verified that a mortgage interest deduction was not made.
This loan meets the qualifications of the program and federal tax returns are not required.
Review and verify the statements below then check I certify the following.
Click the Submit Certification button.
An approval message - "The Certification of the loan has been approved" - is displayed and the loan stage is changed to Commitment.
Click the Create Underwriting Certification Report button to display the Underwriter's Certification of Loan Eligibility report.
Click the Print icon to print the report, or click the Save icon to save the report to a specified location.
